Blue Light Laser

Considered as one of the best acne treatments available, blue light therapy is commonly used on people who have mild to severe cases of acne. This is a non-invasive procedure that will improve the condition of your skin and in turn prohibit the acne from coming back again.

This therapy is approved by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States to be very safe for use. As a matter of fact, many dermatologists allow their patients to undergo blue light skin treatment to help solve their skin problems.

The blue light laser for acne makes use of high-intensity and narrow-band blue light to target the acne and source of it. During treatment, Levulan, a topical solution, will be applied over the affected areas and after 30 minutes when the solution is absorbed by the skin, light will be directed to the skin.

Patients will not feel any type of pain because the blue light treatment does not make use of laser or ultraviolet lights. The blue light kills all the bacteria that are deep-seated in the sebaceous glands that cause skin problems.

As mentioned earlier, blue light laser acne treatment is non-invasive. It does not make use of needles like in pricking so you will not worry about soreness that is very common among those who undergo pricking.

Many patients who have had blue light laser acne treatment said that their skin condition improved in about two to four weeks. Although many patients see a significant improvement compared with the other treatments that they have used in the past is not always successful.

The side effects of undergoing acne blue laser light treatment is very minimal and very common. Some of which include the following: swelling, redness, skin dryness and stinging.

Bear in mind that these adverse effects are expected since the blue light used in the treatment targets the innermost part of your skin to stop production of oil and kill the bacteria at the same time. There are rare cases of patients being allergic to the photosentizing solution, but this is very unusual.
